La Abarth 500 (o Abarth 595), come tutte le vetture sportive a trazione anteriore, può soffrire la scarsa motricità a causa dell’elevata coppia motrice che si scarica sulle ruote. Questo si manifesta soprattutto in uscita di curva, dove la ruota interna viene sgravata in parte dal peso che vi insiste per lo spostamento di carico dovuto alla spinta centrifuga: ci si trova così con una delle due ruote che ha la capacità di scaricare a terra una coppia molto inferiore rispetto all‘altra. Ricordiamo infatti che un differenziale libero ha la caratteristica di dividere sempre e comunque la coppia in due parti uguali, quindi la coppia massima che può essere scaricata a terra è vincolata dall’aderenza della ruota con meno carico.
