The cotton sports air filter is installed in the airbox to replace the original air filter. It is made with high-performance materials that increase air flow to the engine compared to the original paper or foam air filter, while also ensuring superior filtration efficiency. Thanks to the combination of different oiled layers, all impurities are retained down to a minimum of 7 microns (certified to the international filtration standard ISO 5011), while OEM paper filters typically require total filtration of particles down to a minimum of 10 microns.
BMC cotton sports air filters are manufactured using a "Full Molding" process, which allows the distinctive red filter to be created from a single mold without requiring gluing in the corners, which can easily cause breakage. The special rubber used in BMC filtration systems is virtually non-deformable over time and has excellent adhesion characteristics to any airbox shape.
BMC air filters are made of a multilayer cotton fabric soaked in low-viscosity oil, sandwiched between two aluminum mesh structures. The aluminum mesh is treated with epoxy resin to protect it from oxidation caused by fuel vapors and humidity in the air.
All BMC air filters are washable and regenerable using the appropriate washing kit, saving you money on periodic filter replacement.
